Why it’s gli occhi castano scuro? I thought it would be: gli occhi castani scuri.

Ciao Corinne, we say “gli occhi castani”, but when we add “scuro” or “chiaro”, we usually say “gli occhi castano scuro” = gli occhi (di colore) castano scuro; or “gli occhi castano chiaro” = gli occhi (di colore) castano chiaro. It’s they type of “castano” (brown) that is “scuro” or “chiaro”. The expression “gli occhi castani scuri” is also correct, anyway.
